Titles In Question

Two New Books came to the shop yesterday. And their titles are both Questions... Which I like, because it made me curious, it made me want to know more, it made me want to know the answers to the questions! Let me break it down for you!!!

Where Is Fred?
By Edward Hardy, Illustrated by Ali Pye

Fred is a fuzzy little caterpillar. He is also an expert at hiding. Along comes Gerald, the crow, who is looking for something delicious to eat!
Lucky that Fred is good at disguising himself!

Also, you get a free tiny little fluffy Fred the Caterpillar toy with every book! (While stocks last) (Cool!)

What's the Matter Aunty May?
By Peter Friend, Illustrated by Andrew Joyner.

You may know Andrew Joyner as the author and illustrator of the fantastic 'Boris' series, well, the fun keeps going with this new picture book. Written cleverly with rhyming text, this is a book about looking on the bright side, even when precious antique vases are destroyed, cats are covered in red ink, cream cakes are splattered into ceiling fans and lounge rooms are flooded by burst pipes! Phew!
Poor Aunty May!

Fall for a Book this Valentines Day

It's valentines day, ho-hum! So my pick for a sweet, heart warming story is this one, My Rhinoceros by Jon Agee. It's a tale of friendship, and expectations, and most importantly imagination!

"Rhinoceroses only do two things, Pop balloons and poke holes in kites"

Can the Rhinoceros save the day?

Would you like a pet Rhinoceros?
What sort of animal would you want to be your valentine?
I think i'd like a slow loris. They are the cutest!

Happy Valentines Day Slow Lorises!
Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

And speaking of classics...

Check out these Pocket Pooh-isms! They are (surprise!) pocket sized and very lovely.
Each little book contains one story from A. A. Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh and is complete with the original  colour illustrations.

'I have been Foolish and Deluded,' said he, and I am a Bear of No Brain at All.'
'You're the Best Bear in All the World,' said Christopher Robin soothingly.
'Am I?' said Pooh hopefully. And then he brightened up suddenly. 'Anyhow,' he said, 'it is nearly Luncheon Time.'
So he went home for it.

100 Years of Gratitude

Here at the Younger Sun, we pride ourselves on having the best of the best in stock: the crème de la crème of children's books. We have bold board books, perfect picture parables, charming chapter chronicles, and terrific teenage tales – we also have books on alliteration.

But another thing we stock are classics.

The Younger Sun ladies read them when they were munchkins, and their Mums and even their Grannies read them when they were little as well! And we reckon that YOU also might enjoy them, as classics never go out of fashion. They are indeed....classic!

Some of our classics include:
The Story of Doctor Dolittle
The Twits
The Magic Faraway Tree
Peter Pan
Snugglepot and Cuddlepie
The Silver Sword
A Wrinkle in Time

Chicken Big

Chicken Big, Keith Graves, Scholastic

The farm is tiny. The coop is itsy-bitsy. The chickens are very small. But the egg is humongous, and so is the huge yellow fellow who pops out! This feathered giant is so big, the flock is sure he's no chicken.

'It's an elephant!' peeped the smallest chicken. (She was not the sharpest beak in the flock.)
'Indoor elephants are dangerous!'

Will the chickens ever accept the enormous chick for what he is?
Very entertaining.
