Actually, it's called 'The Adventures of the Wishing Chair' and it's 1949 - not a first ed as there are many previous, and it's an Aus edition. I suppose I thought it was pretty magical ...
I think I like my old 1948 copy of the Magical Wishing Chair which is falling apart, and not even mine (inherited from older sister)
